Does Anyone Wanna Help?

So...we've had a busy few weeks. Last Saturday my mom came over with some hostas and I spent most of the day planting. I also bought an awesome rose bush that's just beautiful that I planted as well. I'll have to take pictures of our new stuff. The hostas look a bit disheveled but they've been through a lot being chopped up and all. They may not ever look great this year but next year they will rock!

On Sunday we went to Dave's brother's graduation party. The weather was beautiful and the live right on a lake so it was a blast. I also picked up some roller blades this weekend. Dave and I went about 1/2 way around the block before I was done. Lol, it's been a few years since I've been on roller blades and it's so much harder than I remember!

So...in reference to my title, I've become a Pampered Chef consultant! I'm really excited about it! So if anyone wants to help a sista out, I need 4 shows booked in my 1st 30 days which ends on 7/28. There are lots of perks!! So anyone who's not coming to my mom's show on the 7th or just wants to have one because I rock...I'd really appreciate it! I promise I will try not to pimp myself out here too much but I've gotta at least bring it up every once in a while!!

Well, I've got some good new pictures to post as soon as I get them all on the computer. I will talk to you all soon!

Happy Tuesday

I woke up today thinking it was Wednesday or Thursday. I hate that reality check...blech! At least it's nice weather out...finally. I still feel like it's spring since the weather has been so icky and rainy and cold, but in reality it's mid-June! How crazy is that?

Carson's Dr. appointment went really well on Friday. He's super healthy and growing right on track. No shots for him, actually no shots until he is 5 besides flu shots so that is good news for me...well him too! Haha. So we don't have to go back until he's 2! Wow it's crazy. The only way we could keep him occupied during the wait for the doctor was to feed him goldfish and allow him to touch and play with anything he could reach. Haha. After the appointment, we went out to Minnehaha Falls for a picnic with the Navy people that Dave works with. It was a bit too windy but still very nice out. It was the first time in a long time that I've been out there and the river was so high and the Falls were beautiful.

Sunday we went to the cabin to celebrate Father's Day. It was just a beautiful day out. We finally we got to go out on the pontoon, something I've been waiting to do for a few years. I was actually panicked! Haha, Luckily for all of us Steve is an excellent pontoon driver! Carson was a littl
e bit tired so there was some meltdowns but he was actually really good when he could sit on Steve's lap and honk the horn. The daycare lady had picked him up a life jacket and he looked so cute!

Well that is my picture-tastic update. I have even more because I took about a bazillion pictures this weekend. I'll make sure and update again soon so that I can post some of my other ones. They turned out great.

Oh...actually speaking of pictures. I got asked today to take pictures at our company summer outing in July. I accepted and immediately thought I was going to throw up. I'm so nervous but it will be good for me. Talk to you all soon!

If it were 1939, I'd be screwed!

The other day when I was dinking around on the internet instead of working, I stumbled upon this awesome Marital Rating Scale from 1939. There is a link on that posting which has the entire scanned in test and so I printed it off and took it home. I gave Dave the wife's chart and I took the husband's and we rated each other. Dave's score was a 97, so 'Very Superior', mine was a 41 'Poor'. Hahahahahahahaha!

The thing we discovered after exchanging charts and reviewing our own scores is that what made a "good husband" in 1939 are things that would still be valid and appropriate today. For instance Dave got merits for
things like:
  • Being a steady worker/good provider
  • Remembering birthdays
  • Making guests feel welcome
Dave got demerits for things like:
  • Snoring (HAHA!)
  • Not shaving on Sundays
Now, I on the other hand got merits for things like:
  • Being a neat housekeeper
  • Letting the husband sleep late on Sundays or HolidaysB
  • Being faithful
And demerits for things like:
  • Wearing pajamas while cooking
  • Wearing pajamas instead of a nightgown
  • Walking around in stocking feet in the house
  • Talking too long on the phone
So if I lived in 1939, I would be a terrible wife! Haha, it's just funny to see how roles of women in the home have changed so drastically. Dave says, it all started to go downhill on ce they gave us the right to vote. Don't worry I have smacked him for that comment more than once!
So, we thought it was pretty entertaining and good for a laugh!
It's nice that Dave is back from Chicago. It was good to have my sister out here but it's always nice to have him back home. We have recently started to try and utilize our Netflix account a little bit more than we have in the past few months. Before we had Carson we watched movies ALL the time and just haven't been renting them from there as often. But hopefully we'll start getting our uses out of it!

Carson has his 18 month check up on Friday. I can't believe he's just getting so big so fast! I'll make sure and update pictures of him soon!

Loss

At my follow up ultrasound on Friday I was told that they baby's heart was no longer beating.  It had stopped a few days prior.  We're all doing ok, as I understand that these things can happen early on and usually there is a very good reason chromosomal or whatever.

Not sure what the plan is yet...at this point I'm not quite ready for a do-over.  The first few months of pregnancy are full of enough uncertainties, that I can't imagine going through that with the weight of this as well.  I will say that any future pregnancy announcement will come well beyond the danger zone of the first trimester.  So don't be surprised if one day I'm like 20 weeks pregnant and we didn't tell anyone!! Haha, we probably won't wait that long but we will definitely wait longer than we did.

I think the hardest part is telling people.  Especially because they don't know what to say.  Well, I'll let you all know, as much as it sucks and as sad as it is, I'm OK.  I'm handling it very well because I know it's nothing I did or didn't do and at this point it just wasn't meant to be.

We will add to our family when the time is right.  I'm not sure what this will mean as far as when we are supposed to leave.  We have another request in for a 12 month extension but if that does not go through then we may be leaving in December.  We will of course keep everyone updated as soon as we know anything more.

For now, I will leave you with a picture of the BEST mood lifter ever!

Rainy Days

I'm getting sick of the rainy dreary weather.  It's good for our lawn at least!
We've been getting bombarded with every construction company within a 100 mile radius, calling, knocking on our door, leaving fliers.  It's annoying.  People are really pressuring when they stop by for you to set up an inspection immediately and get angry when you don't. I'm sorry but dude, I have ZERO idea who you are and I've never heard of your company I don't think I'm gonna set anything up with you.  This guy called the house and strictly went by Jerome...no company name or anything.  It's like seriously?  I'm not that much of a moron.

We had a great time over at Dave's mom's house on Monday.  Too bad the weather wasn't warmer.  She has a fantastic view of Lake Minnetonka and it would've been nice to be able to be outside more to enjoy it.  But it was just a bit too cold and icky.  We'll have to get over there more this summer and enjoy the lake!

Dave will be out of town next week...he'll be in Chicago for a Navy class.  My sister is coming to stay with me to help with Carson.  I have a small bleed near the baby and instead of getting better over the last week it got slightly larger so I need to avoid lifting Carson (HA!) so I will need some help with Dave being gone.  Luckily she will be able to be here almost all week.

I'll have another follow up ultrasound next week, probably Friday to check in and make sure the bleed isn't getting any bigger and hopefully I'll be able to take it easy enough that it will be resolving itself.  I had the exact same thing with Carson and it ended up being no big deal so we'll hope that we follow the same path this time around.

Talk to you all soon!

Yep, We Got Hit

Yep, we got hit by the storms that rolled through this afternoon.  I think it was the largest hail that I've ever seen.  Not quite baseball sized but bigger than a golf ball.  It seriously sounded like the roof was going to crash in on us.  No tornado at least.  The storm passed us before it created one...I think it was in Coon Rapids that the tornado hit.

However, we do have holes in our siding.  Kind of sickening in a home that's not even 2 years old yet.  So, I guess we'll see how to go about getting all of that fixed.  Yuck!

Carson woke up on the total wrong side of the bed today.  He was a complete crab-ball all day and wanted nothing to do with me 95% of the time.  Exhausting for Dave.  Right now, he's sitting in his chair watching "Meet the Robinsons" a pretty cute Disney movie but it's also super confusing. Haha, the first time I watched it I was like "What just happened?" lol

We're going over to Dave's mom's house tomorrow for a BBQ and relaxin by the lake.  I'm really looking forward to it!  I'll make sure and post pictures tomorrow!  But for now I'll leave you with pictures from the storm.

Pathetic Eh?

This is Carson angry about having to come inside for lunch yesterday.  And yes, that is both black dirt and sidewalk chalk on his face.  Both of which were obviously in his mouth.  He was "helping" yesterday while we did our spring outside work.  We cleaned up the yard, cleaned out the garage, pulled weeds and planted some new flowers.

As I was spreading some fresh black dirt over our hostas, I look down and see Carson kneeling beside the freshly laid black dirt, shoving a handful of it into his mouth. YUCK!  Haha, it was pretty funny though.  We were also watering the new plants and our trees and Carson figured out that he LOVES the hose.  So he was just soaked.  Luckily it was warm enough outside that we didn't have to change him till we went inside.  So, I stripped him down for lunch and the result is above.  A very tired, hungry baby who wanted to stay outside just a bit longer!

Can you believe that it's almost June already?  Time is just flying by.  Work has been very busy, which is good for me.  Every time I drive to the Target by my work, I see our new building going up.  It will be so nice when it's finished.  It sucks having the company divided.  Especially since I began working in the main building and when I switched departments I got shipped to the other building (which pretty much sucks). So there are so many people that I don't see nearly as often as I'd like.

It seems that everyone around is getting new cars.  I have serious car envy.  I know that mine is just fine and has treated me well, and with the cost of gas I don't also need a car payment but man...it would be nice to have  a beautiful new car.

Well, it seems to be another beautiful day outside.  We should probably get Carson out there again!  Bye!

Relax

Carson got this AWESOME gift from daycare.  He seriously freaks out if it's not out in the middle of the living room so he can get up in it and down as he pleases.  It's nice that he can have a little seat that is "his".

For Mother's Day we went to brunch at Grandpa and Grandma Theisen's house.  Unfortunately, we were meeting at Noon, and Carson naps at 12:30 so he was a bit crabby.  We ended up leaving at 2:00.  Carson napped at home while I played around on my computer and tried to learn my photo editing program a little more in depth.  It's got a 700 page user manual so I've got a lot of studying to do.  That doesn't happen so easily with Carson around.

Jessica came over on Saturday night to play Mario Kart with us.  We had cheeseburgers on the grill and hung out for a while.  Poor chica still recovering from her foot surgery.  So we like to keep her as busy as possible. Hopefully she'll come out and hang with us again soon...it's pretty fun!

Well I don't have much more to update yet...I'll leave you with some great Mother's Day photos!
