Who's a Star?

I bet you can guess the answer to that one!! What an improvement from the weekend. Carson has *hopefully* gotten over the worst of this teething phase. The teeth are starting to do that peek in and out thing but they'll be through soon and he's been in such a good mood compared to last weekend. It's been a complete 180!

He has however started to throw a fit when we take him out of the bath. He has always enjoyed baths but never got angry when they were over. That is no longer the case. He screams and kicks and arches his back and when he's wet it makes it quite difficult to feel like I'm not going to drop him. He's not exactly a light baby.

How is everyone feeling about the fall premiers. We have that new DVR which I believe is the best invention EVER as I can rewind something I missed due to a temper tantrum or bedtime or something. The only show I'm really excited for is The Office I've been addicted since the first season and I'm just DYING to see what happens with Jim and Pam. Call me a nerd but I'm hopelessly invested. Other than that, there's nothing that I *need* to watch. Most of it is crap anyways.

I'm excited for the CTX pumpkin get together thing on Saturday. Kate, Austin and Lydia are going to join us and I think it will be a great time. I'm just hoping the weather is nice. I'm loving the cooler weather. I'm not quite ready for really cold weather but the 60s are nice. I love not having to use the air conditioning or the heat...what a happy medium!

Well I'll leave you all with some pictures. I'm afraid I don't have much interesting to update, I've been swamped at work and coming home and just zoning after Carson goes to bed. But everyone can always use pictures!!

We Survived

Carson and I survived Dave being gone...barely. He had a temp of 102 most of the weekend. I can't believe how much worse the top teeth have been compared to his first two. Thursday night, I think we slept for a about 3 hours total. I was on zombie-mode during work on Friday. Luckily he's seemed to feel better as the weekend went on and is sleeping as I type this. Bliss.

The weekend just flew by. Dave didn't get home until late on Friday night, I was already in bed (mostly because I was still recovering from Thursday night) so I hardly acknowledged him coming home. Saturday we met up with Dave's mom and brother to take his senior pictures. We went to the Arboretum in Chanhassen. Ok, TOTALLY didn't know that was there. My dumb butt thought that Dave's mom was talking about the Conservatory at the Como Zoo. It was beautiful there and the weather was fantastic. I think the pictures turned out really nice. I just hope Tim is happy with them. As we were leaving the Arboretum, we saw a terrible accident...it looks like when the two cars hit one caught on fire. It was quite an ordeal and traffic was being re-routed, so it took longer to get out of there than it should have.

Today I went to a baby shower for Kate...the people that she works with threw her a really nice shower. Carson was really tired through the whole thing and was refusing to nap with so much going on around us. We spent a little time after the shower at Kate and Erik's place, Dave had gone out there to watch the game with Erik. I got a chance to take a few pictures of Lydia and Austin for Kate but crabby babies kept me from taking more than just a few. I still have to get on and see what they look like. I'm hoping that they turned out good.

I hope everyone has a great week!

Tired This Week

I'm on overload at work right now. Right now I'm keeping files for 6 doctors and in the process of getting medical licenses for 3 of them (47 licenses in total!) and someone just quit and they've asked me to kind of "clean up" the mess that was left behind. I know they're asking me because they trust my work and I really feel good about it...but I look up at the clock and it's time to go before I even know it. I'm hoping to get moved up a level soon so that I can get a laptop and do some work from home on the days that I feel a bit overwhelmed.

Carson's top tooth finally popped through for good. It was playing peek for a little while...and the poor baby was so miserable. He's been in a much better mood the past few days but I know it's just a matter of time before that second top tooth starts, you can already see a bit of swolleness. He's *almost* fully crawling. He'll get up on his hands and knees and start forward. He'll take about about 3 "steps" forward but only if you put something really good in front of him like the remote or your cell phone lol. But as soon as he gets close to it, he flops back down on his belly and starts the army crawl and the roll/scoot moves. He definately can get to where he wants to go some way or another.

Dave has to drive to either Iowa or South Dakota tomorrow night so I'll be home alone. I hate that. I've tried to bring Carson into bed with me the times that Dave is gone but he wakes up at like 2:00 and realizes that he's with me and then he just wants to play. It doesn't work so well. We have a security system but I'm one of those who gets irrationally afraid of everything but loves to watch true crime television. So I'll be watching like Forensic Files or Cold Case Files and I'll be convinced that the garage door is open and that someone is in there, but I can't check because I'll have to turn off the alarm to open the door and then the bad guy will jump out because he *knows* that the alarm will be off and that's his prime opportunity. Gah, I guess I gotta stop watching the murder shows.

Carson has been dinking around in his crib for the last 45 minutes...he wasn't crying or fussing so I tend to let him go for a while before I go in and lay him back down and cover him up. I just went in to check him and he was sitting up in his crib his paci, blanket and lovie were all on the floor and he was just happily playing with the bumper strings. They are double knotted so he can't get them untied but they sure are fun. He's such a goof. It amazes me how crabby and tired he'll be through his bed-time bottle but then he'll dink around for 2 hours if you let him!

Well Dave is bringing home LeeAnn Chin yummmmmm!! Talk to you all soon!

Welcome Little Ones

What a crazy past few days! I haven’t been around to update I’m afraid…But I am back in the swing of things now.

Wednesday the 12th, our friends Erica and Brent welcomed Gabriella. She was a healthy 8lbs 3oz. They came home on Friday and are doing well. I went to visit on Thursday and Erica looked AMAZING and little Gabriella was just beautiful. She has a ton of character in her face which I just love!

Friday the 14th, Kate and Erik welcomed Lydia. I had the extreme honor of being in the delivery room with Kate and Erik. I must say, that was just one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had. It’s such a different deal when you’re not the one giving birth! Lydia weighed in at an unbelievable 10lbs!! Kate is truly my hero. We all knew she was going to have a big baby but I’m still in awe over how big exactly! If Austin doesn’t watch out, his little sister will be catching up before he knows it.

We had Jessica over on Sunday afternoon to watch a dismal Vikings performance. She made Carson an awesome blanket with some fleece that we were given as a gift. It turned out so great. THANKS JESS! My mom also came over and dropped off some wonderful things from Karen, Brian and Ben. Carson was given a 4-wheeler thing to ride on once he gets a little bigger. You know one of those things that you always wanted as a kid (BARBIE JEEP) but they were sooo much more expensive back in the day. He’s just going to have a ball with that and I’m so excited for him to be able to ride it! We also got a little wooden table and chairs, perfect height for coloring. He’ll be using them before we all know it!

I’m really excited about this!! I get to take pictures of Dave’s younger brother that he will hopefully be able to use for his senior pictures!! I can’t wait. What wonderful experience. I’m just honored that Dave’s mom asked me. It really means a lot to me, because as I stated before I’m really hoping that I’ll be able to pick up photography. Now I just need some location ideas. GAH, and it’s almost leaf-changing time!! I just can’t wait!

Well, I missed Friday at work, so I should probably be doing some catch-up instead of updating. But I just can’t help it…I’m just so excited about everything right now. And with permission, I present Lydia Joan:

Socks Make Happy Babies

...at least at my house they sure do! So far this week has been a little trying. With such a generally happy baby, teething can literally make a monster! One of Carson's top teeth is *thiiiisclose* to coming through. Hopefully it's not much longer.
I have two girlfriends who are due to have babies this week. Most of you know Kate, she was due on Monday and our other friend Erica, who is due today. Erica is being induced today and I've been on the edge of my seat just dying to hear back from her. Both Kate and Erica are having girls so Carson will have some potential girlfriends in a few years! I think it will just be nice to have close friends who have babies too. Kate has a 4 year old but it's not exactly the same anymore as he is pretty independent. I'm so excited for them both! And now I don't have to be in BabyLand by myself!

Yesterday I got in a fight with our cable company. When we first moved into our house last year, they weren't offering phone service, just internet and cable. Now that they offer phones we have decided to switch providers to save money by "bundling". I just don't know why it has to be such an ordeal to get the techs out to your house. Why does it always seem that something goes wrong?

Our appt was originally scheduled for Tues between 1:00-5:00PM *eyeroll*, so I need to take a 1/2 day from work. When the guy shows up, he has only come to install the phones, not the DVR (like TiVo) that also comes with our upgrade. He tells me I will need to schedule another time for someone to come out. I said that is really not ideal as I don't work anywhere near home and I had asked them to do both installs at the same time. I called customer service and they assured me that another tech would come out the same day before 5:00PM. I had to pick Carson up at daycare before 4:30 so I called Charter back to make sure I wouldn't miss the tech while I stepped away for 15 minutes...well it turns out that they never put in the order for someone to come back!! I was very upset and I think the poor guy could tell. He assured me someone would be out before 6:00. The tech did eventually show up but I still had to sit on the phone with Charter customer service for almost another hour that night because the new box wasn't working correctly.

I'm getting all riled up just writing about it!! Haha! Well, at least it's all taken care of now. I really like the DVR and it will come in handy for Dave since he works such late nights. Now we can record The Office and watch it together instead of me trying to fill him in on Pam and Jim

I've got a hungry baby so I'm off for the evening!

Beware of the Plague

I'll advise you all to beware of the Theisen household!! Everyone was sickly this weekend and will hopefully be feeling better soon. I have to say it was so sad watching my mom just look at Carson. She wanted to hold him so bad but she didn't want to get him sick!

We watched the Vikings game over at Mom and Steve's house. It was a good time. Most of us ended up napping at some point during the day, but that is what Sunday afternoons are for. Once we got home and put Carson in bed, I fell asleep on the couch during the Giants/Cowboys game. Dave woke me up to go to bed and I freaked out when I saw that the clock read 11:45. Turns out Dave was just being sneaky and changed the clock before waking me up, just to see my reaction. What a punk!

Lunch with our dad went pretty good...it ended up being dinner instead of lunch but it was a pretty good time. He looked pretty good and Carson had a great time. Although, Carson will love anybody if they are feeding him something! He'll be in town until the 19h I think so I'm sure we'll end up visiting again before he leaves.

Carson has been a fuss-butt all weekend. He's getting his top teeth and has been clingy/crabby baby all weekend. Even our daycare lady mentioned something about him being a little out of character today. Hopefully those will pop through soon and we can get our normal happy little guy back!

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

A Healthy Baby

We had Carson's 9 month appointment this afternoon. He is happy and healthy. He's 29 inches long, 22lbs and in the 75% for both height and weight. Luckily this time we got to skip shots and the next appointment won't be until 1 year!

After the appointment we spent some time with Mom and Steve. Dave met me there and we ate some dinner and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Steve wasn't feeling wonderful and it looks like we won't be watching the Vikings at the cabin this weekend like we had hoped but there will be plenty of Vikings losses to watch at the cabin. :)

Dave and I are meeting with Jessica and Mandie to have lunch with our "real" dad who is in town from Louisiana. He was in town when Carson was born but we haven't seen him since then. It will be interesting.

I FINALLY ordered Carson's 6 month pictures. So I do have some to hand out to family. They turned out fantastic...as did his 3 month, I just hadn't gotten around to placing my order. It's funny how fast that time goes. We're about ready to schedule his 9 month photos! If anyone is interested in seeing the website with the proofs, please let me know and I can email you the link. That way you can get an idea of what I have to hand out.

Well I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

Welcome

I thought this would be a nice way to keep in touch. I find I'm asked for pictures of Carson or us and I thought this would be the best way to reach everyone way more often! I think this will also come in handy after Dave re-enlists and we are living somewhere else. We all know how busy people are, phone calls are not always an option...so this way we can put it out there and you guys can come catch up with us when it's convenient for you!

How's Married Life? I find myself answering that question quite often these days. Well, I'll tell you all that it's pretty much the same as life before August 11th. I'm so thrilled that we are married but I find life to be pretty much the same. Although, I can't complain about a thing, as life has been sweet to us.

Can you believe that as of Monday, Carson is 9 months old!? We're cruising quickly towards 1 year and I just don't know where all the time went. He has 2 teeth on the bottom, they both came through at the same time. His top teeth are starting and he's become crabby/clingy/teething baby again. Just yesterday I saw him go from his belly back to sitting up for the first time. I knew he could do it because I found him sitting in his crib. I had just never seen it before. Our little baby is growing so quickly. Before you know it, he'll be chasing Jack and Darrow around! He's also eating everything in sight. If myself or Dave is eating, he must be eating too...he has no trouble with table foods and just this past weekend, he ate an entire hot dog!

I've decided to pursue photography as a (hopefully) serious hobby. We were able to purchase the camera we wanted after the wedding and I'm finding myself lost in photography books. There is definitely more to this than I thought, but I've been enjoying the experimenting and I have a great "subject" to take pictures of. I've included the most recent pictures of Carson which are a few of my favorites with the new camera!
